i will be on al for quite a long time with the effect from today. finally. alhamdulilah. im waiting for this to come by for a long time already. looking at my colleagues going on leaves made me feel eh bila gua punye turn ni!
so lets talk about theatre. my all time favourite topic to begin with. i love theatre nursing or rather im in love with theatre nursing. so for those who are tired of reading my theatre stories, please make an exit. thank you. =)
theatre is another eye opener for me. why i said that? simple. when i see the emergency cases coming in each day, it have make me see things in a different perspective. life is too short to waste. for instance, last evening, we had a trauma case. a 26 years old married Malay man came with his left hand crushed. i really mean it. crushed. there were a lot of repair work to do. and of course some preparation in the nursing side. xray machine which we also call it as II machine. some drill, K-wire because the team doctors had to straighten his bone and some grafting stuff. thats not all, the surgical team also had to put on lead aprons. i remember assisting an open reduction internal fixation (orif) for 4 solid hours with that lead apron on a Monday first case after having to go through that suay Saturday and Sunday crying and not eating. throughout, i went, aku dah lah tak makan. suruh buat orif plak pagi2. the lead apron was so heavy, i walk side ways. hehe. Sister went, 'you ok? aiyah! you and the lead apron dont blend so well.' tau takpe. despite having to suffer alittle, i still want to give my best to all my patients.
back to the 26 years old man. my usual question for trauma cases. 'amacam boleh accident? naik motor ape?' abit about how it happened, he was riding a scrabbler when a taxi driver dashed past. he lost his balance and his left hand hit the cab's side mirror and it broke. his bike was disfigured so is his hand. 'amcam ni bang. dah nak raya ni.' 'tu ah. but, from my point of view, taxi driver tu lah yang salah.' hehe. so i go on. 'berapa org anak?' biasa lah kan kepo. hehe. if there is one thing i can think of right now in view of accident is that, takut gigi patah. gigi aku dah keluar beribu ni. some accidents that doesnt affect any parts of the body but the teeth. and to you, becareful on the road. and to me too. becareful on the road when you have that fabulous yellow car. haha. or orange car. orange is nice.
yesterday, Prof have 3 cases on the list. 2 will be going first. then, we gave way to the baby fertilisation op (oocyte recovery) and resume his 3rd case. during the OR, we received a phone call from the reception saying prof's 3rd case will be postponed. patient is not well. Shaye and i immediately did a little dance. that was spontaneous! i cant do this silly stuff in front of him. but, behind his back, you never know. heh.
so much about my theatre nursing. tomorrow is Saturday. please dont let it be a suay one. im having fun with the girls tonight. =)
