torn into pieces, 8:45 PM

the department wanted to train another staff in orthopaedic surgeries. and she is...... me. yeah! but, before i go on further, orthopaedic means bones. orthopaedic surgeries means bone surgeries. in Malay translation, bone maknanya tulang. jadi, operasi tulang. senang kan? nanti ada orang cakap aku berbual macam doctor! nonsense.

anyway, so much about the idea of training me up in ortho, Sister Law had to spoil the whole thing. she wanted me to do O&G. i was excited with the whole change of discipline. orthopaedics to me is a good challenge and opportunity. i'll get to meet a lot of trauma cases. i'll get to learn deeper aspects in surgeries, obtain new and more challenging experience. yes! definitely, an adrenaline rush situation. i loike. someday, perhaps, i'll get to be part of the team who join a patient's arm. mot just did last week! yes! i mean it, the team join back a patient's arm. the arm was detach from the body. its just too bad that Sister had to use her power this way. shit.

this morning, i took the first case. the same patient who had his arm detached. this time, he came in for wound debridement and skin graft. there were quite a few sets to prepare. very much with my earlier thoughts that the case will be a small one when the whole surgery run for 4 hours long. nasib baik dah makan nasi lemak siang2! cis! since, its quite a big case, Sister call for 2 teams. Mark's and Anthony's. we had 2 scrub nurses in the field. Sheila assisted the leg while i assisted the hand. there were so many swabs counts to do. just to make sure that neither swabs nor instruments are retained in the body. and i get alittle confuse along the way. wei, Mardia, this kind of case should do in Major ot tau! =P

however, i enjoy assisting the case. time flies so fast that when i look the clock, its 12 noon. i tell myself, thats was fast!! i enjoy assisting so much because everyone was very enthusiatic to start the case. i feel great. i feel that i have achieved something tonight. =) Alhamdulilah.

seriously, if my fate is with orthopaedic, and they see my potential in ortho, it will definitely be in my way. its just a matter of time.

btw, my bestfriends are using pda. i want a pda too! even Diyaz is using pda.

Be in good health first and foremost.. Weigh ermm at least a 40kg.. To do an adv diploma in nursing.. Be an excellent & dedicated perioperative nurse. I want to canoe & rock climbing someday.. To get married! Haha.. Not so soon still..
