torn into pieces, 12:00 PM

i am in rage and happy at the same time. you'll soon understand why.

yesterday was Nurses' Day. by the way, Happy Nurses' Day you all. =) i had a great time in Istana. =) so yeah. nurses' day and i was in orthopaedics theatre. as dsot staff do not only scrub for their assigned discipline, we scrub for all, i repeat, ALL disciplines irregardless what discipline you master in.

frankly, i hasn't been in orthopaedics for quite sometime and yesterday's assignment SUCKS bigtime. i was with 1 ent staff, D. 1 gs staff, C and 1 not competent ortho staff running ortho cases. D had ortho backgrounds in the past but, she never scrub for this particular surgeon before. C, is damn new to ortho. she doesnt know whats going on. she cant even circulate and i DO NOT blame her. i, hasnt been in ortho for so bloody long! in fact, my ortho posting the last time was cut off short because of my 'fav Sister' wants me back in O&G. i dont expect anyone to scrub with me seriously. but at least, i need you, yeah you, ortho staff, to stand by me. but, where the hell were you when kitorang terkontang-kanting?? having lunch when i cant even feel my feet anymore! what kind of team work is this...?? ent staff and O&G staff running orthopaedics cases! what the hell is that...? Andrew was very pissed that he used the f word. can i blame him for that..? NO. because the whole planning SUCKS! we cant cope. i dont blame him neither the vendor. who should have anticipate the issue better..? THE NURSES! the one who should be familiar with the surgeon's preference is you! not the vendor. come on. dont make me angry.

i was too pissed that when i push my trolley to the decom i bang almost everything except for the telescope and camera. i am angry with you because you escape when we need you. whats the point of training you for orthopaedics when until TODAY, you dont hold responsibility to your own discipline in fact, you dont even know whats going on sometimes. the department might as well train me for orthopaedics! i may not be an A grader scrub nurse but, i will make a point to work hard and i am willing to learn and remember. in fact, please please train other nurses who have better working attitude. there are a lot more staff who fits orthopaedics better. for instance, look at the ent nurses, if they are trained to do orthopaedics, they make a BETTER orthopaedics nurses! im not kidding you. i see the potential!

besides, do you know that your alertness determines patient's safety...? people make mistakes. in fact, sometimes, we learnt from people's mistakes. oh come on! i dont want to start patient's safety workshop here. you are impossible. you can make me SO SO SO SO angry that i had tears in my eyes! thats how angry i was and its been a long time since i had that. i am so disappointed with you!!

i am going to give my feedbacks to the nurse manager on Monday. i am not doing this for my own benefit but, for everyone to learn to be a responsible nurse including myself. yesterday was a real rush for me. i dont even have time to check my phone to see my 'happy nurses' messages. we had to leave for Istana by 1600hrs.

Be in good health first and foremost.. Weigh ermm at least a 40kg.. To do an adv diploma in nursing.. Be an excellent & dedicated perioperative nurse. I want to canoe & rock climbing someday.. To get married! Haha.. Not so soon still..
